CyOptique™ GL

CyOptique™ is an image processing software tool aimed at helping analysis of retinal images for incidence of glaucoma. This manual is intended to serve as a User Guide for the first time user. A basic understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system, digital image formats and storage is assumed for effective usage of the system. CyOptique™ is meant to assist ophthalmologists; optometrists and technicians involved in eye care.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness globally. Most patients have no symptoms of glaucoma. By the time the patient notices visual loss, the damage is advanced. Most blindness due to glaucoma could have been prevented if detected and treated in time. Hence the need to enhance detection capabilities of ophthalmologic studies by using computer aided detection tools built around digital imaging.

Image Gallery

CyOptique™ allows the user to process an identified image for analysis. Image gallery displayed by the system helps specific image study/review from a number of images for a given patient. The image gallery is in fact a display of a number of retinal images (from the image folder) on the screen as thumbnails. Thumbnails of the images can be stored in a database with links to actual image files. Images should conform to standard types – DICOM 3.0 or JPEG or BMP.

CyOptique™ connects to a database system (Microsoft SQL Server) for data storage and retrieval. DICOM header and other relevant clinical information, demographic information should be stored in the database, with links to the image files (the links are stored in the database).

• CyOptique™ can query a DICOM application entity and receive DICOM image file.

• CyOptique™ can retrieve retinal images by using
  • "Quick Search” based on a specified patient-id, visit number, visit-date, etc.
  • "Filtered Search" for a range of patient-ids, visit dates, etc.
• The system can generate reports based on the automated analysis of the study for a given patient and also statistics based on the patient database. Chart options such as pie, line and bar diagrams are available. A day register is generated based on the patients’ visit on a given day.
• CyOptique™ provides tools for marking the disc, cup, segments, etc. on the image.
