Traveling salesman

Each salesman carries a PDA or a Smart phone (mobile phone). The salesman goes to the field and meets with the customers. Based on the customer preferences, the salesman captures the order data – list of items, quantity ordered, rate, value of the order, etc. Sometimes, there could be repeat order from a customer or previously ordered items with changes in quantity. The system expedites the order capture time by providing the previously placed order details on the PDA / Mobile phone screen for the salesman to make appropriate changes. The firmed up order captured by the salesman is then synchronized with the corporate order data and also a print out of the order can be given to the customer for reference. The salesman then goes to meet the next customer. During the roaming mode the salesman can also collect money from the customers for the orders already executed. The corporate staff can plan for the dispatch of the items to the customers based on the new orders received.
